1978 Datsun B210

The B210 replaced the B110 in the mid-70s, and, despite the weird styling, managed to be quite popular throughout its life. The B210 was the right car at the right time--it was introduced during the gas crisis, and the period when the Japanese companies were seeing huge success. The BRT stripes on this one highlight a feature of old cars I love: the strange, forgotten things on them--dealer badges, license plate frames, and stickers that, at one time, meant something, but have now faded into obscurity. As far as I can tell, the Balboa Race Team was a team campaigned by a Southern California Datsun dealer, so these stripes were probably a dealer option from that dealership.
