The AMC Spirit was introduced in 1979, as the replacement for the old Gremlin. But underneath the new body was the same, 9 year-old Gremlin platform. The AMX was the performance version, and included every gaudy 70s muscle car cliche. Huge graphics? Check. Lots of unnecessary body add-ons? Check. A tiny V8 engine that didn't live up to the hallowed name of the car? Check. But that's exactly what makes this car so cool today. It could only be from the 70s.
