1973 Volvo 1800ES

The Volvo P1800 is Volvo's most famous and popular sports car. Introduced in 1961, the "S" designation was added in 1963 when production moved to Sweden. Later, near the end of the P1800's life, the 1800ES was introduced, a shooting brake/wagon version of the car. A '66 1800S currently holds records for high mileage; it recently hit 3,000,000 miles. This 1800ES exhibits the unique all-glass rear hatch, and sports the same paint scheme as the 164E posted a few weeks ago.

  1. Also, the "P" was dropped when the "S" was added (i.e., there's no such thing as a P1800S, P1800E, or P1800ES).

  2. Not that you stated anything like that, but it was left a bit unclear.

  4. The presence of bumper shocks and their trim covers indicates m/y 1973. Better fasten that grill before it falls out.... Nice to see one of these still wearing its original trim rings.
